Black Watch tartan is a popular Scottish tartan that has a rich history and tradition. It is also known as the Campbell tartan or the Grant Hunting tartan. The Black Watch tartan features a dark blue-black background with deep green and navy stripes. It is named after the Black Watch, a famous Scottish military regiment that was formed in the early 18th century to protect the Scottish Highlands from Jacobite uprisings. The Black Watch tartan became popular in the 19th century and was worn by members of the regiment as well as civilians.
