Here’s a wood and tartan ring for the proud, fighting Irish! Ireland has long been associated with the color green due to its landscape, shamrocks, and flag. The white and yellow/gold colors in this tartan signify Irish unity and independence.

We paired this elegant Irish tartan ring inlay with a Rosewood ring base. Rosewood is a wood often used in traditional Irish instruments such as the cygnet flute and uilleann pipes - the signature bagpipe of the Irish.

The Irish National Wood and Tartan Features:

  • Dark brown Indian Rosewood ring
  • A center ring inlay of authentic Irish tartan
  • Dual metal inlays of your choosing
  • Available Widths: 7mm, 8mm

The Irish National Tartan Ring Inlay

The iconic green, white, and yellow/gold speaks to Irish Nationalism, and the hope of unity within. Besides being referred to as the Emerald Isle due to the landscape, green also emerges from St. Patrick’s use of the shamrock to describe the Trinity, and Gaelic order, and of course the left third of the flag of Ireland is green. This dates back to the 1790s, when the Society of United Irishmen launched a rebellion to end British rule and founded an independent Irish republic.

Dark Indian Rosewood Wedding Band

Our Indian Rosewood has this wonderful dark, chocolaty appearance, with some tones of deep red as well. Rosewood was chosen for this design not only because it compliments the tartan colors very well, but also because it is a wood often used in traditional Irish instruments such as the cygnet flute and uilleann pipes - the signature bagpipe of the Irish. Rosewood is a very hard wood with great moisture and rot resistance. These features along with its excellent tonal qualities, it’s easy to see why it is such a popular wood for musical instruments.
